Hyacinth is a pup BLOOMING with personality! She would be a perfect companion for families with other dogs, or as a single lady. She loves to romp around with her doggy and human friends alike, and truly has never met a stranger. Hyacinth especially loves children and has a gentle, loving demeanor which is perfect for kids of any age. She has a youthful energy but also doesn't mind cuddlin' right up next to you while she lays in the grass. While you're busy around the house, she is easily entertained with toys and does well sleeping in her crate. She is also very respectful in the home and housetrained.

Additional adoption info

We ask potential adopters to fill out a matchmaker form. When they are ready to adopt an animal and the form and interview process indicates a good match, we have the adopter sign an adoption contract promising that the animal will receive good physical and emotional care. Fees vary and we often have adoption specials. Fees for senior pets are sponsored. Otherwise, dogs are $100, puppies $150 and up, cats are $75, kittens are $95.

The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that provides a safe environment for the lost, abandoned, and homeless animals of Charlottesville and Albemarle County and places them in good homes. We strive to set a standard of excellence and leadership in animal care, humane education, and progressive animal welfare programs. Our staff and volunteers are passionate about caring for the animals in our shelter and placing them in good homes.
