Hello world! I'm Chess! I'm so excited to be ready for a forever home! I was in a bad situation but fortunately was rescued along with my Mommy Parti and my siblings Checkers and Mancala. Boy did we get a great foster home because there's nothing better than being with your Mommy and siblings when you're little. Mommy teaches us and cares for us and my siblings make every day FUN!

Foster Mom calls me "the litter box inspector" because when she cleans it, I jump in right away to make sure she has done the job right! So far, she has been doing a great job and she gives me a gold star in the Helper Department! Yay me! I'm expert level in the litter box, by the way.

I am a typical boy in that I love to play and I wasn't a bit scared to jump on the top of the kitty condo! I showed my sisters just how to do it so they wouldn't be scared too. I don't mind being held for a bit unless something more interesting catches my eye! The days fly by because there's so much to learn and do! I'm sweet, curious, playful and handsome!

Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..

If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us.

Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets.

We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in.

We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
