Rudy Rudolph - what a gentle soul you are. We are so glad we can help you along in your journey. Rudy's mom recently passed away after a cancer battle and he's feeling a little lost. Don't worry little Rudy - we got you Boo!!!!
Rudy is a gentle guy who prefers a low-key environment. It takes him a little bit to warm up, but once he does, his love is powerful. Since arriving, we've learned he is heartworm positive and we are treating him for that. He enjoys some relaxing time wandering thru the gardens of his foster home. He's fit right into the pack and enjoys being with other doggies. Occasionally he will play, but he really wants to do that inside where it is cool. Don't blame you there Rudy. Overall, he has a very reserved temperament, sweet disposition, and loves to be with and cuddle with his people. Rudy is learning but will need to be on a schedule for house training. As with any dog that is in a new household with different surroundings, smells and schedule, he will need time and patience to learn the ropes and settle into his new home. . His foster mom carries him out into the yard so he can do all the sniffies as well as his business. He does very well when given opportunities to take a guided stroll outside with his person.
If you are interested in adopting Rudy Rudolph, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our
online adoption application. Rudy Rudolph's adoption fee is $400. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Rudy Rudolph will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed.
Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit.
DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia.
Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part.
DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
