My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, everyone! I'm Daisy Dukes, and I can't wait to introduce you to my pride and joy, the Dukes of Hazzard! Now I'm sure my boys think I named them this way because they're royalty. But, no way, it's because they're pure chaos! Loving, fluffy, chaos. I'm not sure if you caught "the boys" wording earlier, but my pups are ALL boys. Talk about being outnumbered.

A wonderful woman found me wandering the streets while pregnant. After no luck finding my home, she surrendered me to Zoe's House so that my pups and I could receive all the care and love that we needed. I'm a cavalier, and I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't know who my pups father is (my best guess would be a poodle of some sort, they're everywhere you know). No worries though, a DNA test was already done and we have confirmed the boys are 66% poodle, 28% Cavalier and 5% cocker spaniel. Enough about me, now let me tell you about my precious babies!!

Bo (pink collar): Bo is my largest pup, who just tipped the scales at a little over 3 pounds. Not only does he clearly love to eat, he's also the first to try out new toys. Bo thoroughly enjoys being the center of attention.

Cooter (purple collar): Cooter is a mellow pup who likes to go with the flow. Whether that means napping with his brothers, playing tackle, or running laps, Cooter will be there!

Boss Hog (orange collar): Boss Hog takes his name seriously. He will quietly observe his brothers in play, like a pesky hall monitor. I haven't had the heart to tell him he's not really in charge.

Roscoe (blue collar): Roscoe is the most vocal pup, not wanting to be overlooked. He was the first to learn how to whine, bark, and growl. Now that all his brothers can also bark, he reserves his for special occasions.

Luke (green collar): Luke is the smallest pup, and the only one without thick, curly fur. Don't let his size fool you, however, he can hold his own against his brothers. His favorite activity is to pin Bo (the largest) to the ground, just to prove he can.

Jessie (red collar): Jessie has the thickest, curliest hair of the bunch. He absolutely LOVES to cuddle and be held. His calm nature and teddy bear facial features makes him an instant favorite with visitors.

Please note, these pups are only 6 weeks old and will not be released to their forever home until 8-9 weeks of age. A meet and greet with all members of the home and resident animals is required. They've been dewormed every 2 weeks, and will receive their first shots prior to adoption. Despite being likely poodle mixes, this litter is NOT hypoallergenic. Due to their young age, they will be adopted out on neuter contracts.

More about this rescue

Who We Are:
Zoe's House, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare group based out of Sinking Spring,PA. We are comprised solely of volunteers that generously volunteer their time, their homes and their hearts. We are dedicated to rescuing homeless, neglected or abandoned animals from high kill shelters or from owners who can no longer care for them. We provide the animals with loving foster care, veterinary treatment and rehabilitation until we are able to pair them with compatible and loving forever homes. At times we also offer permanent sanctuary to those with special or medical needs and that are considered unadoptable.

Zoe's House serves as a resource to our community and to our adopters by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, the importance of spay/neuter, behavior training, nutrition, puppy mill awareness, heartworm preventative and breed education. Our organization also networks with other shelters and rescues. We try to assist other organizations when possible.

Zoe’s House is not federally funded, and relies solely on donations to continue to rescue. Although we are not breed specific, the need to save Dobermans, Rottweilers, German Shepherds and Pitbulls is ever growing; therefore, we have focused primarily on saving the lives of our beloved and majestic strong breeds.

What We do:
There are many people involved in the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of each dog we take in. Our rescue effort starts with the initial intake request for a dog. Whether this be at a shelter of from an individual in the community, we try to gather as much information as we can. We then pickup or transport the dog to safety in rescue. At this time we administer immediate veterinary care to determine the health of the dog and ensure the animal has proper immunizations. We also have bloodwork done for a heartworm check, lyme, fecal and sometimes a blood panel depending on the age and health of the dog. The dog remains in "in-home" foster care and becomes a part of the fosters family for an undefined period of time. We evaluate the dog and work on basic manners and obedience. At times we have dogs for a longer duration due to health and/or age. The dogs in our care come with us to adoption events, home screenings, and ultimately permanent placement. Zoe's House then provides post-adoption follow-up and support and welcomes the new family to the "Zoe's House Family!" We strive to stay in close contact with all of our adopters to ensure the transition and life long relationship continues to be magical. We remain dedicated to the principal that we never want one of our rescues to end up in a shelter or in a home that does not provide a responsible and loving environment for the life of the animal.

We truly believe that one dog at a time... we are making a difference!
