Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Atlas, the gentle giant with a heart as big as his massive paws. This four-year-old Mastiff mix is a grown dog who is ready to find his forever home.
Despite his size, Atlas is a total goofball who loves nothing more than cuddles and belly rubs. He may look tough on the outside, but on the inside, he's just a big softie who wants nothing more than to be your loyal companion. This cutie is super smart, already knows basic commands, and keeps his kennel clean! He loves going for long walks and nude sunbathing in the backyard, but he's also content to curl up on the couch next to you for a Netflix binge session.
So if you're looking for a furry best friend who will always have your back, look no further than Atlas. Come meet this lovable lug today and see if he's the perfect match for your home. Just be prepared to give him plenty of treats and belly rubs in return for his unwavering loyalty. Adopt Atlas today and let the adventures begin!
Form his foster mom: "Just wanted you to know a few things. He's house trained, kennel trained and leash trained. Needs no supervision inside, very well mannered and SUPER CHILL. Knows sit, speak, here. He won't run off once he knows his surroundings or who his person is. He listens to anyone. Loves all dogs and humans. He rides so well in a vehicle that you forget he is there until he pops his head between the seats. Truly the most amazing boy EVER"
Midwest Animal ResQ offers a 30-day adjustment period within which you can evaluate the pet's progress and your adoption decision. If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time!
All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption.
Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays.

Additional adoption info
We firmly believe that EVERYONE deserves the love of a pet, and strive to make our adoption process a positive one!
When you visit our Adoption Center in Raytown, our amazing Matchmakers will go to work helping match you with your perfect pet! If you would like to meet a pet currently located in a foster home, please email foster@marqkc.org and the foster parent will then be in contact to set up a time to meet at the shelter.
Midwest Animal ResQ provides medical treatment for all animals that come into our care. Some pets come to us injured or sick, and require an extraordinary amount of medical intervention. Variable adoption pricing allows us to continue to do more for those animals that need us the very most! Currently our average adoption fees do not begin to cover our average medical costs, not to mention the other costs associated with animal care, thus our fees are not negotiable. Thank you for understanding!
To adopt any animal, a government issued ID is required. For dogs we do require a well fitting collar or harness and a leash, you are welcome to bring those with you, or we have them for sale at the shelter for $5-$15. For cats we require a secure carrier, if you don’t have one, we sell cardboard carriers for $10 at the shelter. You will also receive a copy of all current health records.
We look forward to seeing you, and hopefully matching you with your perfect match!
