Hoshi's owners left him outside without shelter and not much food and water. When we received him into rescue he had burns and infection on the majority of his body, was extremely underweight, and tested positive for heartworm because he was never given monthly heartworm prevention. This pup holds no grudges and is extremely sweet. He is now a very healthy boy, his skin has been treated and healthy hair has grown back, his heartworm has been treated, and he has put some much needed weight back on.
Hoshi is estimated to be just over 2 years old and is approximately 50 lbs. We believe he is a Shiba Inu mix pup and he is so ready to find that committed and loving furever family and home that he can be a part of. He is a little shy at first, but warms up once he gets to know you. The Inu breed’s trademark is loyalty (have you seen the movie Hatchi)? Hoshi gets along well with dogs of all sizes and kitties. He is not a “go fetch a ball kind of dog' whatsoever and will require a quiet more reserved home where he is not pestered or bothered by children, but can simply be a loyal companion pup. He prefers to stay wherever you are, and not too far from you. Loves walks and is terrific on the leash; no pulling. Hoshi is completely potty trained and does not require another dog to play with. Again, he is happier with you than with anything else. Hoshi would be perfect for an adult or couple who is really wanting a strong connection and has plenty of love and acceptance to give. We believe he would do best in a quiet family environment where he can just be a laid back pup.
