Meet Murphy!

He's settling in perfectly in his new home and is absolutely thriving. Murphy has proven himself to be a cat-friendly companion, even managing to get along with a particularly sassy feline roommate. Potty training? Check! Murphy has had no accidents, even after spending 8+ hours in the kennel, so we're confident he's house-trained. He's already learned some key commands like "sit," "no," and "kennel," and he's making great strides with his training. Murphy's enthusiasm for life means he can't help but jump for joy when he sees you, but we're working on that excited little quirk. Despite his occasional clumsiness, he's a bundle of goofy charm and endless sweetness.

If you're looking for a spirited, affectionate dog to bring joy and laughter into your home, Murphy is your guy. He's ready to be a loyal and loving addition to a family that will appreciate his playful nature and big heart.

The process is quite simple! Please stop by and see for yourself. All animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to going home.

Tuesday - Saturday:10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Sunday: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit open intake shelter that serves all of East Baton Rouge parish. We strive to improve the lives of abandoned, unwanted and abused animals in our parish. We house approximately 400 animals at any given time. We take in 20-30 new animals a day. We are always in need of fosters both short and long term, donations, and volunteers.
