Hi there, I`m Zsa Zsa and I am 7 months old. I am a pretty torbie girl who came to TAPS from a humane society not too far away. I came with my siblings who have since been adopted,,all but me. You see, I was a little shier and more independent when I got here as well as afraid. I have now been here a few months, and I am so much better with the people I am comfortable with. It does take time for me to trust, and I have a couple very good staff and volunteer friends. They will tell you that you just need to talk to me softly, pet me gently, cuddle me so I feel safe, and protect me from big scary loud noises and quick scary movements. I am really a sweet, gentle, lovebug when given the opportunity. I also really enjoy dangly feather toys and good cat tree to scratch and climb! If you have the patience and heart, please fill out that online application and give me a meet, maybe talk to some of my human friends. They promise I am worth it!!

TAPS-Tazewell Animal Protective Society was founded in 1958 in Pekin Illinois in a building donated by the City of Pekin on River Road. In 1979, rapidly rising river water forced the evacuation of the animals. Once again, the City of Pekin stepped in and donated a building for the animals. Several moves later, and with the help and generosity of many volunteers and community members, TAPS now has a new home at 100 TAPS Lane. Last year we celebrated 50 year of caring for the homeless animals of Central Illinois.
