My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Channa, the epitome of sweetness and shyness wrapped in a sleek, short-haired black coat adorned with a charming white dot on her chest. Her gentle nature is immediately apparent as she extends a warm welcome, affectionately rubbing her cheek against your hand. Channa's friendly disposition extends to her feline companions, with whom she shares a special bond, particularly with her calico sister Tikka KRLA-A-7370.

Despite being a bit of an underdog and often overlooked by adopters, Channa is eagerly seeking that special connection with a kind-hearted soul. Her journey began in adversity, confined to a cramped wooden 3 tier box wrapped in chicken wire during harsh weather without sustenance. When rescued, she faced the challenges of extreme diarrhea and dehydration, yet her resilient spirit never faltered. Despite her hardships, Channa remains a beacon of affection and hope, yearning for nothing more than a safe haven to call her own.
With her endearing personality and unwavering loyalty, Channa is more than prepared to bring boundless joy and unwavering companionship to her forever family. Open your heart and home to this little sweetheart, and witness firsthand as she blossoms into the loving companion she was always destined to be.

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
