My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Blizzard is a 3½-year-old girl with a story that’s as unique as her personality. When she first arrived at the rescue, she came in all alpha-overflowing with "huskitude" and ready to rule the roost. But life had other plans for this spirited girl. Shortly after arriving, Blizzard got up to classic husky mischief and managed to get her leg caught in a fence—upside down, no less.

The team rushed her to the vet to ensure nothing was broken, and luckily, the X-rays were clear. She is healing up beautifully, but that experience gave her a humbling reset. These days, Blizzard prefers to steer clear of the large, rowdy packs, sticking with calmer huskies or even enjoying her own company.

When you spend one-on-one time with her, the layers of her personality unfold. She can be playful and full of energy, chasing after those moments she missed during her recovery, or she’ll happily transform into a cuddly lovebug who just wants to be close to you. It’s like she’s savoring every moment, making up for lost time.

Blizzard’s future home might just see the return of her alpha streak, but we won’t know for sure until she finds her place. One thing is certain—she’s ready to thrive with someone who can give her the balance of adventure, snuggles, and the calm environment she craves. Could that someone be you? Apply today!

More about this shelter

We are committed and wholeheartedly dedicated to providing family and emergency services involving rescuing, sheltering, fostering, vetting, adoption and transportation of
"at risk" or "death row" husky and other large dog breeds.

Our goal is to not only provide these services in larger facilities than we currently have but also to use our resources to educate and raise public awareness on the benefits of properly caring for and keeping their pets and/or adopting from shelters and not shopping from breeders.

Our mission is to share our knowledge on the pro's of spay and neuter, the cons of backyard breeding and provide sound advice and services that help the community manage their day to day with their furry family members. Together, we can greatly reduce the number of unaltered, unvaccinated animals in our communities and put a dent in the homeless population by providing access to family services as well as spay, neuter and chip id programs.
