What do you get when you are super smart (like Albert Einstein 🧓🏻🧠🤓) and you are the brightest star 🌟 in the sky??? You get Shinestein! Meet this super-handsome, perfectly middle aged boy, who has a huge heart and is looking for a new, quiet place of his own to land.
Shinestein's owner could no longer care for him and we are thankful they turned to DREAM for help. All his vaccines have been brought up to date & he's even had a dental, with only 3 extractions. His bloodwork came back perfect and he has a couple of those fatty bumps that are causing him absolutely no harm or discomfort.
Shinestein likes to play with toys, and his foster dad has been taking him for walks. He's a little slow on the leash right now, probably because he was a total lap dog in his prior life. So many new things to learn. He will pass other dogs, cats, and squirrels while on a walk with no reaction and his foster dad has only heard him bark one time so far. Shinestein can be a little timid sometimes, especially when being picked up, but overall he's a very nice dog. He's absorbing all these new experiences with patience and dignity. Shinestein is an independent soul and would be just fine as an only dog or with a quiet companion. His days of boisterous activity have moved into the past & he now thoroughly enjoys lounging with his companions vs wrestling with them.
If you are interested in adopting Shinestein, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our
online adoption application. Shinestein's adoption fee is $500. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Shinestein will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed.
Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit.
DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia.
Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part.
DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
