My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Bunbun was brought in by his previous owner on June 19, 2024

Why Bunbun is the one for you:
Meet Bunbun, a tiny rabbit with a big personality! He loves his greens, playing with cardboard boxes, and rearranging his bunny knick-knacks. He isn't a fan of certain handling, so he would do best in a rabbit-savvy home without children. Bunbun is a domestic rabbit and he should be kept indoors. Bunbun will need a large enclosure with free roaming time (bigger is always better) and he tends to get a bit frustrated if he doesn't have enough space. Bunbun would love a family who will interact with him daily to keep him healthy and social! When rabbits get the space and enrichment they need, they often form deep bonds with their humans. If you're interested in bringing home the adorable Bunbun, bring a carrier to our Oceanside campus today!

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV2):
Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV2) is a highly contagious disease affecting rabbits. Due to its presence in San Diego County, all rabbits will receive a mandatory RHDV2 vaccine before adoption. Guests will be charged $14 for this vaccine upon adoption.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
