Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Say hello to Maldonado, a 70lb softie who is ready to be your new best friend! This sweet natured pup desires a home where he will be shown unconditional love and treated to endless tummy rubs! Your new bestie is dog and cat friendly, crate trained, potty trained, and eager to be a superstar on leash. Maldonado has made great progress on his leash manners and walks well on a gentle leader. He enjoys splashing in his kiddie pool, chewing on pig ears, indulging in occasional zoomies, and showing off his crinkle stuffies. He enjoys chasing toys but doesn’t understand the concept of bringing them back! Maldonado is highly treat motivated and eager to please. He knows “sit” and “wait”, working on “bed” (aka place) and “backup” Sadly, early life was difficult for Maldonado. He came into the shelter as a young pup caught up in an abuse/neglect court case. Thankfully, shelter volunteers saw his potential and advocated hard for him to be taken out of the shelter for fostering, giving him the opportunity to show that his past does not dictate his future. After months of legal proceedings and seeing multiple other pets around him be adopted, his day in the sun has finally come, and boy does he shine! Maldonado has shown he is a friend to all. Respectful of cats and a proven track record of reading and responding appropriately to social cues given by other dogs, he is a slow-blooming social butterfly. The resident pups at his foster home tip the scales at 5lb & 15lb, and while he is fantastic with both, he may appreciate someone closer in size to play with. Only seeking one companion for now? No problem! Maldonado is more than happy to fly solo as your one and only! Most of all, he would benefit from a family who understands he is a slow bloomer and may be shy for the first week. It took about 10 days to be 100% Maldonado in his foster home. Now he doesn’t seem to fully understand he’s 70+ lbs and wants to squeeze into small spaces to get as close as possible for pets and attention! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/75-KmpPU4f8 Age: 3 years Weight: 72 lbs Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and heartworm positive but treatment is paid for and underway. Temperament: Good with dogs, gentle with kids, good with cats Training, House trained, crate trained, knows commands, “sit” and “wait”, working on “bed” (aka place) and “backup” Email for questions: sonaligokhale@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review.
