My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Fernando! I am very easy going and calm compared to my siblings. Even though I love to play and have plenty of energy, I manage to stay out of trouble (well, okay, sometimes I knock stuff over, but it`s all in good fun). I love bird watching from windows in the morning and love waking my foster parents up with plenty of cuddles and purring. I especially love chasing with my brother Checo! Once I`m worn out, I love laying right by your side for petting and purrs, and would make a purrrfect work from home companion! I also love getting treats and will purr until I get my way. My favorite toys include any kind of string and I love playing with shoes because of the shoelaces! I had an infection when I was younger, and I still have a little discharge from my right eye and a once-in-a-while sneeze. I am also obsessed with boxes and will play with them as much as I can.

Fernando and his siblings came to us from another shelter in LA.

More about this rescue

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
