Meet Dorothy, a courageous 2-year-old Cairn Terrier who has been on an inspiring healing journey at Famous Fido Rescue after surviving a car accident. Now ready for her next chapter, Dorothy is seeking a loving home where she can thrive. She gets along well with other small dogs and, although she hasn’t been around cats, we believe this sweet girl would adapt well to a home with feline friends. Dorothy would be best suited to an adult-only family or a family with older children who understand her need for gentleness due to some lingering tenderness from her accident. This volunteer favorite is looking for a calm and quiet home filled with love, where she can continue to heal and share her affectionate spirit.

More about this rescue

Famous Fido was founded by Gloria Lissner who has been independently rescuing dogs from the death rows of kill shelters since 1975. She officially opened Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance in July 2010. All our dogs recieve the necessary vet care and treatment is never refused. Famous Fido has developed a full merchandise line, starting with our all natural dog treats to support our rescue efforts. Our products are available for purchase on our website. The mission of FFRAA is to form an alliance with similar organizations to increase community awareness, public consciences and create a No Kill Nation.
