My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Can you help me find my forever home? If you are not my forever human, please share my story so that maybe my forever human will see it.

Hi! My name is Yeti, I am four months old, weigh 35 lbs, and I am the bestest boy. I have not had the easiest start in life, I was born into rescue care, and have been through 3 foster homes in my short life. They think I am a shepherd husky mix based on my colorings, but I have very short hair for either breed. I have giant paws, so they think I might get as big as 70 lbs. Its unclear whether one or both of my ears is going to stand up.

In my previous foster home, my human foster siblings called me yeti spaghetti. I am a big ball of fun and love to play. I get along with cats, kids, and dogs. My current foster mom says I am super smart. I learned how to use the doggy door in one day – in my previous home I used to ask to be let out at the back yard. I have not had a single potty accident since moving to the new foster home.

Even though I am a puppy, and quite a chewer, I mostly stick to chewing my own toys, but I did demolish an entire roll of paper towels the other night – it was mom’s fault – she should have been watching me. I have learned to sleep through the night in a crate without complaining, although I am still quite vocal during the day in the crate. I am working on this. I do have a bit of separation anxiety, but who can blame me considering I have been through 3 homes in 4 months.

Although I am totally comfortable sleeping in my crate or in a dog bed on the floor, I also LOVE to cuddle. If you invite me up on the couch or into the bed I will snuggle you for as long as you want, although I may also nibble on your hands and face.

I have all the normal puppy habits – running, playing, chewing, vocalizing, but for my age, I am incredibly well mannered. I listen to commands like sit, drop it, leave it, and have pretty good name-recall. I do need additional reminding at times that I do not belong on the counters or tables, and that shoes are not chew toys. My foster mom is also trying to teach me to swim - I am good at getting on the first step in the pool, but I need more practice to get past there.

I really love playing with my foster siblings and would love to be in a house with another playful young dog. I have the cutest zoomies, and love when my foster siblings chase me. I currently live with 2 senior dogs, and I sometimes annoy them until they chase me. I get a kick out of it, but I do not think they are very amused.

My foster mom and dad need to find me a home because they are quickly falling in love with me. If I stay here too long, they will end up keeping me, and then they can’t foster other puppers to keep them from boarding, the shelter, or worse.

I am available for adoption through Southern Nevada Animal Rescue League – you can find the link to my application here: http://www.snarllv.org/adopt.html#/sl_embed&page=shelterluv_wrap_1691267012559%2Fembed%2Fanimal%2F84930261.
