My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Half off adoption fee in June

Squid is such a special kitten with so much goofiness and love to give. He is considered special needs, but boy is he a happy kitten and he doesn’t let that hold him back!

He has Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), also known as Wobbly Syndrome. It’s a neurological condition that comes from improper development of the brainstem responsible for motor control. It means he has wobbly balance! Cats with CH can live long, happy lives with a home catered to their special needs. They don't know they're any different from other pets, and the condition doesn't cause them any pain! Squid may be a little uncoordinated - but he and others like him deserve to flourish and be loved just the same!

Squid loves to play, run, always seems to be on the move. He is a lover, and always wants to know where you are, be near and around you, and will talk to you. He is a snuggler and loves to be near his sister as well. He is hilarious and has a huge personality. He’s quick on his feet and loves to play, but is also content watching his sister and sharing toys. He is the definition of a fun kitten and loves to be around humans. Squid has really unique markings in his eye color as well!

He does rely on Nori to show him the ropes, and follows her lead. They are bonded as he will also do best with Nori or another cat with CH so that he is not “picked on” for being a bit different :).

More about CH: CH is not contagious or painful at all. Squid has a Mild level, which means he requires little to no additional care. He may have subtle head movements when nervous or scared, lose balance occasionally, have the wide “tent” or “A”-like gait but can still do things a normal cat does, such as climb, jump, run and walk. I’d recommend avoiding tall cat towers or opportunities for him to fall from tall heights, as he tends to lose his balance and fall over more often.

Full vetted, neutered, microchipped, tested and negative for FIV/FeLV.
