Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Skye is a 1-year old female wire hair/pointer mix. She is spayed, weighs about 50 lbs, and she is up to date on shots. Her coat is soft and wiry. She is fostered in Huntingtown, MD.
Skye is a submissive and sweet puppy. Skye can be a little shy with people at first, but after a little while, she wants to be close and get her belly rubs. She wants to be near her person all the time.
When she is outside, Skye studies everything around her and lifts a paw like a pointer would. She looks elegant flying through the backyard. Skye also loves to do zoomies when excited and happy.
Skye loves to play with other dogs and is happiest when she finds an equal-minded playing partner. She does very well in a pack. Skye is all puppy and loves "un-stuffing" toys.
Skye does bark during play, at dogs, or to get attention. She is also a little mouthy, and she jumps up for hugs. As Skye continues to learns her manners, she would do best in a home with older children and with a family that is patient and consistent with her training.
Skye is doing well with potty and house-training. She is good in her crate, and she feels safe and comfortable in it. Skye has also learned to use the dog door quickly and is still learning to walk on leash.
Please Note:
We review veterinary care for applicants. This includes regular well visits, core vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm, and tickborne tests, as well as regular monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention. Please contact your veterinarian’s office to give them permission to speak to us before we call them.
Applications are available at www.puppypawsrescue.org
If your application meets our adoption criteria, we will contact you within 1 week. At that time, you will be contacted (usually by email) to schedule a phone interview and a virtual home visit (Facetime, Skype, etc). Due to the volume of applications, applications that do not move forward to an interview may not receive a reply within that time frame.
