My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 9 years
Weight: 28.5 kg

A bit about me:
- kids okay pending successful intro - interactions should be supervised
- unknown history with cats; slow, supervised introductions recommended
- dogs okay pending successful intro; history of resource guarding between dogs

Bella Rose may technically a senior, but she doesn't know it! Bella still loves camping, playing fetch, finding and chewing on all the best sticks, and long nature walks to discover new smells. Bella's previous family tell us she is a high energy girl who often greets people with jumping and excitement, so while she has lived with children, she may not be a fit for young or nervous kids. Bella Rose can take some time to get used to new people, but once she is comfortable, she loves to cuddle. Bella has lived with other dogs before and would likely do well with a polite, appropriate dog who can respect her boundaries. If you're looking for the ideal adventure dog/ couch cuddler then Bella Rose may be your girl!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
