Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Topaz is the sweetest girl, she had a rough start to life but is now on a journey of learning that there are people out there that can be trusted. She is a 4 year old Portuguese Podengo, who has come to us after having had a history that most likely involved more breeding and hunting than love and care. Her resilience and growing trust in humans showcase her strength and gentle nature. With time and patience, Topaz is sure to blossom into a loving and loyal companion. Here at CAAA, we have seen her do well with most other dogs so she is likely to do well in a home with or without other canine friends. We do believe she would do best in a home without cats however, as she is very fond of chasing the squirrels and other small woodland creatures outside. We also recommend she live in a home without small children, as she is still learning to trust humans and would do well with people who can go slow and be gentle with her. Despite the fact that she hasn't always been treated so kindly in the past, we have noticed Topaz is adjusting quickly to life with people who take care of her, and she especially loves all of her fluffy beds and cozy little blankets to snuggle up into. She is learning she may love this new life with nice people, and is just waiting to find that forever family who will treat her with the love and compassion she has always deserved and waited for! Topaz is part of our Extended Stay Program and her adoption fee has been reduced to $100 to help her find a home more quickly- she is also available for Foster to Adopt to ensure a smooth transition to her forever home.Sound like a companion you're willing to give the time and love to?
