My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet mama cat gave birth on the day of the Solar eclipse: April 8th, 2024. She found a safe grill cabinet in a cat friendly backyard to have her babies. The mews of her babies were heard that night, and the family was found by a nice couple. The couple had 3 cats of their own, so they found a special place in their heart for this family.

Mama was fed twice a day under the grill cabinet from day 1. She was so hungry! The kittens were appropriately named Apollo (Sun god), Luna (moon), and Soleil (sun). There were 4 babies but only 3 survived that first night; the 4th was named Orion. Live cams were placed to watch the babies nursing. Videos and pictures of the entire amazing experience are available to whomever adopts this mama cat!

The Solar Eclipse family was soon brought into the nice couple’s home, and were given a guest room to spare them from predators and the Florida heat. After 8 weeks nursing with Mama, the kittens found loving homes. Mama was sad to see her kittens go, but thankful and humbled at the same time. She loved being a mama, and truly did the best she could by finding a safe place to raise her babies.

Mama is now excited to find a home of her own! She is smart, sweet, gentle, and at times chatty. She will have a full conversation with you when she has something to say. Is not picky when it comes to food. Litter box trained, clean. Loves attention and company, will accept pets and even roll over once she warms up to you. Does not bite or scratch, a gentle soul. Just a baby herself, under a year old; a teen mom so to speak!

Mama has been spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. She is currently still residing in the couple’s guest room. She is looking for a foster home to take over and / or someone who will love her forever. She really is quite lovable and cute. Mama comes with her own cat house which she loves to sleep in, scratching post with a perch she also enjoys, and toys!

In hopes to ensure the right fit for both pet and family, all of our adoptions are foster-to-adopt. This means that, whatever the reason, we will always accept the pet back to our care, in one of our homes (not a cage at a boarding facility or shelter) if the adopter(s) has a change of heart or circumstance. This is one of the many benefits of opting to adopt from a local Rescue organization over a store purchase or shelter Adoption. Going on vacation? Have a trip already planned before meeting the furry love of your life? We've got that covered! Our volunteers are more than happy to help babysit your new bundle of joy if you are unable to make other arrangements.

If you are unable to adopt, but wish to contribute to his continued health and safety, East Coast Pet Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, where all donations are tax-deductible. Receipts available upon request. 305-916-EAST(3278) info@eastcoastpetrescue.org

More about this rescue

We are dedicated to pet adoption and uniting domestic animals with appropriate and responsible owners who will provide shelter and care for the life of the pet. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals who were previously abandoned, surrendered, unwanted or injured. This includes investigation, research, safe transport, humane trapping, providing short- and long-term foster care, sufficient nutrition, preventive and medical attention, and any other forms of necessity that a reasonable and responsible veterinarian recommends to provide and maintain high quality of life for the pet. The adoption process is thorough yet linear to ensure the pet will be placed in a safe and loving environment with a family that is physically, emotionally, and financially equipped to provide the necessary care he or she needs to live the happy and safe healthy live he or she deserves.
