My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!

Midnight is a cute, young sheltie with a personality that is blossoming as he gets familiar with his foster family. His soulful eyes let you know he really likes being with his people, and he happily follows his foster mom around the house. He always enjoys cuddling and being petted. Outside he might be found doing zoomies, and he was eager to get to know and play with the resident dogs as he wagged his tail in greeting.

Midnight is a little shy around men but very affectionate with women and children once he gets to know them. He is crate trained and uses it both at night and if he wants a break from the other dogs. House training is in process, but he’s nearly there. He is a bit fearful of unexpected noises, but his life has changed a lot in the last two weeks, and his foster says he is more at home with them each day. He is looking for a forever family who will love and care for him, and he is full of love to give them in return.

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs please go directly to www.almosthomeohio.org for an application. Once the application is submitted, our adoption team can discuss the information on the application with you to determine if one of our dogs would be a good fit for your home. Lastly, a home visit will be done either by one of our volunteers or another reputable rescue volunteer in your area. We do adopt out of state, but it is up to the adopter to come meet and take the dog home. Sound like a lot to go through for a dog? It really isn't as complicated as it seems and it's the best way to ensure a good match. Please contact adoptions@almosthomeohio.org with any additional questions you may have after reviewing the information on our website.

More about this rescue

Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio is made up of a small (but growing) group of enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of homeless dogs. Our background is with purebred collies and collie mixes but on occasion, we have other "family friendly" breeds. If you are searching for a collie, we'd like to help you find a wonderful companion that fits your family's lifestyle. All of our dogs are fully vaccinated and are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. They have also been tested and are negative for heartworm and are on heartworm preventative.
