Cheeks came to GGOH as part of an assistance project with one of our volunteers and a local farmer. The farmer had taken good care of Cheeks and the other cats on the farm with the exception of spaying and neutering and thus, the population quickly became an issue for the farmer. We took in ten cats from this project with a few that turned out to be pregnant. Cheeks was one of those few. On April 5, 2024, Cheeks gave birth to five kittens, three of which were stillborn. Her two live births are thriving and ready to find their forever homes which means, so is momma Cheeks.

Cheeks is a fabulous young cat - she's affectionate, friendly and social. She enjoys being near people, but isn't always underfoot (which is a good thing if you're a bit unsteady on your feet sometimes). She is great with other cats, young and old and can sometimes be found romping and playing with the kittens in her room here at GGOH. She's a bit of a free spirit as she likes to roam around and see what's going on. She's gentle when she plays so would make a great companion for younger children. She's not a huge fan of being held for too long but she is affectionate and enjoys being groomed. If you're looking for a young cat that is a bit independent, Cheeks might be just the cat for you.
