Hey there, I'm Sandpiper, but you can call me Sandy! My story isn’t all tail wags and belly rubs, but it’s one of hope and resilience. You see, I came from a place where there were just too many of us puppies, and not enough food to go around. There were ten of us in total, all scrambling for every scrap of food we could get. It was a tough life, and sadly, the day before we were set to come to PPFT, one of my siblings didn’t make it. He kept getting pushed out of the way during mealtime and couldn’t get enough to eat. It broke my heart. When we arrived at PPFT, we were in rough shape. We were dehydrated, full of parasites, skinny, and just not doing well. But thanks to the amazing people here, we’ve bounced back and are now healthy, happy puppies. And now, it’s my turn to find a forever home. I’ve been through a lot, but I’m ready to bring joy, laughter, and endless tail-wagging happiness into someone’s life. Let me tell you a bit more about myself and how I interact with the world around me. When it comes to other dogs, I’m calm, friendly, and always ready for a good sniff-and-greet session. If there’s another dog in my new home, great! If not, that’s cool too. I’m chill enough to go with the flow. Now, let’s talk about those elusive creatures called cats. I’ve seen a few, and let me tell you, they’re fascinating! I haven’t barked at any, just given them my best “What are you?” look. So, I think I’d be purrfectly fine sharing my space with a feline friend. Kids? Oh, bring them on! I’m like the Mary Poppins of puppies—practically perfect in every way. I’m gentle, friendly, and always up for some kid-sized cuddles and playtime. I can already imagine all the fun games and adventures we’ll have together. When I meet new people, I’m all about spreading the love. I’m friendly and welcoming, always ready to make a new friend. I haven’t had much practice yet, but with a little training, I’m sure I’ll be a pro in no time. Hiking sounds like a blast! I imagine I’d love it, especially if it means quality time with you. My energy level is just right—calm enough to relax with you but playful enough for some fun when the mood strikes. Fetch? Meh, not really my thing. I mean, why chase a ball when you can chase dreams? But give me a toy, and I'm in heaven! Squeaky toys, chew toys, you name it—I love them all. Water? Haven’t really dipped my paws into that interest yet. With proper exercise, I'd be a fantastic apartment dog. Plus, I promise not to hog the TV remote. Potty training? Well, I’m working on it. I’m not quite there yet, but I’ve got great instincts about going outside. A little patience and positive reinforcement, and I’ll be a potty-trained pro in no time. Kennel training? Not really my jam. I prefer to be out and about, exploring my space. But hey, I’m open to learning if that’s what’s needed. Now, about my chewing habits. Yes, I have a slight obsession with sticks and cardboard. I mean, who doesn’t love a good stick?
