Meet ZIGGY, the precious 12-year-old Cockapoo searching for a forever home filled with love and care.
Ziggy may be older, but his heart is as youthful as ever. Despite his blindness, he navigates the world with grace, relying on his other senses to guide him. His sweetness knows no bounds, and his gentle spirit will melt your heart. As soon as he smells your leg, his tail wags enthusiastically, and he rubs his head on you, happy as can be. Ziggy gets along well with his foster siblings and has never had any issues, even when they approach him while he eats. Ziggy has impeccable house manners and has never had an accident inside. He always waits until he is let outside. He adjusted very quickly to his foster home and loves to nap all day with some belly rubs. While he may not be up for many walks, he is perfect for someone who works from home as he is quiet and mellow during the day.

We do not transport dogs. All dogs must be picked up from Northern VA in person by the adopter.

Somerset Cottage Poodle Rescue, established in 2013, is an all volunteer 501c(3) dog rescue funded by your donations. We rescue companion and senior dogs, at risk for euthanasia, from overcrowded shelters and provide them with the medical attention they need. We also redone dogs for owners who can no longer care for them. We do not have a facility so all of our dogs live in foster homes through out the Northern Virginia area until their adoption day. We are proud that we find them perfectly matched forever homes and families. We rescue and find permanent homes for approximately 250 dogs a year.
