My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Astrid: Your Loyal Companion Awaits!
Name: Astrid
Age: 2 years
Breed: German Shepherd
Gender: Female

Hello, future forever family! My name is Astrid, and I'm a beautiful 2-year-old German Shepherd with a heart full of love just waiting to find my perfect match. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will be by your side through thick and thin, then I'm the girl for you!
I may be a bit timid when we first meet, but don't let that fool you. With a little patience and lots of love, I'll soon warm up to you and show you just how wonderful I can be. Once I feel safe and secure, I'm incredibly affectionate and will become your most devoted friend. Whether it's going for walks, playing in the yard, or just hanging out at home, I love being with my person as much as possible.
I would do best in a home with a secure, fenced yard where I can explore and play safely. I'm very curious and enjoy sniffing around and discovering new things. Having a yard will also give us plenty of space to play games and have fun together!
While I enjoy my outdoor adventures, I'm also a big fan of quiet time. I'll happily curl up at your feet or beside you on the couch, content just to be close to you. My gentle nature makes me a wonderful companion, and I promise to bring a lot of joy and love into your life.
I'm looking for a family who understands that I might need a little time to adjust but is willing to give me the love and patience I need to feel at home. In return, I promise to be the best girl and give you all the loyalty and affection you could ever want.
Are you ready to open your heart and home to a sweet, loving girl like me? Go ahead and fill out an adoption application today and let's start our new adventure together!

Additional adoption info

Adoption application required.

Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..

If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted.

So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

Go meet their pets

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us.

Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets.

We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in.

We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
