He is a bit shy on being picked up when in a new environment. He spent his first night after exploring his new environs in a cozy catbed, and adapts well to new people. He prefers a homebase cat bed or cat tree from which to explore and return to. He steps out slowly to expand his familiar surroundings bit by bit independently, rather than enthusiastically investigating them or following you. He loves to be talked to, and be briskly stroked and petted, and that builds his trust.
