My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for an orange cat to sit in your lap? Great! Because I'm an orange cat LOOKING for a lap! I knew we were meant to be. Anyway, my name is Lucas and I love to chill with my people, sleep in all the coziest spots, and play with feathered toys. I also like to feel the breeze in my fur so an inside/outside lifestyle will keep me happy. I'm comfortable around older kids and won't mind sharing space with another chill cat but being the only cat would be ok, too. I'm really excited to go home so come find me at Woods in Atascadero!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1955, Woods Humane Society is a nonprofit organization which receives no tax funds, but is supported by donations, grants, bequests, fundraising events and fees for services. Woods is independent of San Luis Obispo County Animal Services, but works in close cooperation with them and other animal groups in the county for the welfare of all animals.

Woods now cares for over 3,000 cats and dogs each year at our facilities in San Luis Obispo and Atascadero until they can be united with loving forever families. We bring in animals from other shelters where they are less likely to be adopted and from individuals who are no longer able to care for their pets. Woods is committed to finding loving homes for all healthy and treatable pets, no matter how long it takes. With our behavior and veterinary resources, we are able to go the extra mile for animals in need.
