My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Malia, a spirited and intelligent Beagle mix who's been at Helping Paws since she was just a couple of weeks old. She was adopted for a brief time, but her family soon realized they weren't quite ready for her playful energy and brought her back. When Malia first returned, she was a bit timid and shy, and she may still come across that way when meeting potential adopters in the quieter meet-and-greet rooms. Don't let that initial shyness fool you-outside of those rooms, Malia is a total social butterfly!

Malia absolutely adores her doggie friends and human pals. She's a little protective, so if she sees someone unfamiliar on the street, her hackles might go up, and her big-girl bark might come out-but it's just her way of keeping an eye out for those she loves. Her favorite activity at the shelter is running and playing in the yard, where her energetic personality truly shines. She also enjoys her treat puzzles, which keep her sharp mind engaged and busy.

Malia walks well on a leash, although she can't resist a bit of pulling when there are people or other dogs around-she's simply eager to meet them! If you're looking for a smart, active, and loyal companion, contact Helping Paws to meet Malia. This strong-willed girl is ready for a family who can match her playful energy and give her a forever home.
