My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Rose, and I'm a 1-year-old retriever with a lot of love and energy to share. I came here because my previous owner couldn't take care of me anymore due to health reasons. Now, I'm eagerly looking for a new family who can keep up with my playful spirit and give me all the love I deserve.

I'm known to be a bit of a goofball and very hyper. I love to be the boss around here, but don't let that fool you - I'm incredibly lovable too. I do great with kids and other dogs, but I haven't had any experience with cats, so I'm not sure how I'd do around them. Sticks are my favorite toys, and I can spend hours playing with them! However, I can be a bit destructive when left alone for too long, so I could use some patience and positive reinforcement to help me learn to behave when I'm by myself.

Storms are pretty scary for me, and baths aren't exactly my favorite either - I can be a little tough to get in and out of the car, but once we're on our way, I do alright. On walks, I have medium energy and sometimes follow commands. I don't know many tricks yet, but I'm eager to learn! Sometimes, I chase after birds, and I can be a bit fearful of my surroundings, but with your support, I know I can become more confident.

When we're out and about, I might seem timid at times and stop to check on you often, but that's just because I need a little reassurance. I love giving hugs, especially when I'm feeling scared. Despite my fears, I did very well with other dogs during walks and was super excited to come back to the shelter after our outings.

If you're looking for a lovable, energetic, and goofy companion who's ready to learn and grow with you, I'm your girl. I need a family who can be patient with me and help me feel safe and loved. Let's make each other's lives brighter!
