Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gollum is the sweetest 6lb Chihuahua! He’s got a heart full of love and wants to share it with everyone! He defies all Chihuahua stereotypes, because he is the friendliest and most grateful little dog we've ever met. He does have luxating patellas and arthritis, which makes it a little difficult for him to walk far/fast or do stairs, but he is willing to run for treats!

His favorite activities are lounging in the grass and soaking up the sun and snuggling with his people. He is also such a character when he wants to be and makes the funniest old man grumbles. He gets along with our little dogs and cat. He does well with pottying outside if kept on a regular 3-4 hour schedule but does have accidents in his crate some nights. He is on the fragile side so larger rambunctious pets that will want to play may not be the best fit.

If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly old man dog that will love you with his whole heart then Gollum might just be the perfect match for you!

You are required to sign a legally binding contact on your new pet. As part of that contract, should you no longer be able to keep the animal for any reason, the animal MUST be surrendered back to SAAP. This is to ensure the animal is placed back in foster care while we secure a new approved home for the animal. However, we always try to ensure that the initial placement is best for the pet and your family. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption.

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of animals that are in need of a forever home. Our animals are fostered in homes where we provide love, food, medical care and socialization until adoption into a new loving home. We educate on the importance of spaying and neutering of all pets.

We ensure all animals have been spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are micro-chipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm and anti-flea medications (as age appropriate). They are ready and waiting to start their new life with their fur-ever family. Could that be you?

We need your help to continue our mission. We rely solely on donations and fundraisers. All donations are tax-deductible and 100% of your donation will go towards the rescue, care, and medical needs of the animals.
