My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Let me tell you about Dante, a dog with a presence so commanding, he could make anyone an offer they can’t refuse. Picture this: a noble beast with a coat as sleek as fine Italian leather and eyes that hold the wisdom of a thousand sunsets. Dante moves with a grace that speaks of power and loyalty, the kind of loyalty you’d expect from a trusted consiglieri. This dog, he’s not just a pet; he’s family. His every bark is a promise of solidarity, and his every wag is an affirmation of his unwavering love. Dante is the kind of companion who’ll be by your side through thick and thin, making you feel like the head of the most cherished family.

In the world of dogs, Dante stands out among the masses. His personality is as rich and layered as a well-aged wine, blending playfulness with a deep sense of duty. Whether he’s watching the homestead with a vigilant eye or enjoying the simple pleasures of a sunny afternoon in the yard, Dante does it all with an air of dignified calm. He’s intelligent, quick to learn, and even quicker to form bonds that last a lifetime. When you welcome Dante into your home, you’re not just adopting a dog; you’re gaining a trusted ally, a confidante, and a friend who understands the true meaning of loyalty and respect. So, take a chance on Dante, and you’ll find yourself with a companion as faithful and devoted as any Corleone.

Additional adoption info

The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application (applicant must be at least 23 years of age). Once your application is received a volunteer will contact you to discuss your application. All references listed will be contacted, along with a call to your veterinarian to make sure your current/former pets are/were up to date on all vaccinations. We also complete a background check and home visit will be performed. Once all that is complete, and application is approved, we will arrange meet and greets with our adoptables that may be a good fit for your family and lifestyle. If a perfect match is found, an adoption contract will need to be signed, along with an adoption fee.

All of the above steps are then reviewed by the Chi-Town Pitties, Inc. Board for final approval. Once your application is approved by the Board, we will move forward with scheduling adoption interactions with potential dogs that are a good fit for you and your family.

More about this rescue

We are a small 501c3 nonprofit rescue, committed to leading with our heads rather than our hearts, to help quality dogs find quality homes.

We work closely with area shelters to get as much information as we can about the dogs we take in so we can be as prepared as possible to provide for their needs as we place them in well-matched foster homes. If you would like to join our team of fosters, expect us to have a close ongoing relationship with you as you help your pup get ready for their permanent home.

If you are looking to adopt, expect us to get to know you, too, so we can help you find the dog that will thrive best in your home situation. Like big dogs in general, pit bull type dogs tend to have big personalities, and are an athletic bunch (they even power nap). They aren’t right for every owner, but not every person should be allowed behind the wheel of a Maserati either.

Wondering if a pittie is right for you (and if you are right for them)? Talk to us!
