All about Hank from his foster home!

How would you describe the cat's general personality?  Hank is a stunning 5 year old kitty with a mellow demeanor.  You will be smitten when you look into his eyes!  We are seeking an experienced adopter who understands cat behavior and can provide Hank with his preferred low key environment.  Hank prefers to be an only cat.

Does the cat enjoy being pet?  Most of the time

If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet?  Head, chin, back and base of tail

Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched?  Belly, legs and paws

Does the cat sleep in your bed? No, Hank mostly resides in a separate foster room but I think he would do this once settled in his new home

Does the cat seek your attention? Yes!  Hank will let you know when he's ready for some attention by being very chatty.  I have conversations with him : )

Does the cat like to play? After a few weeks with me, Hank has started to play with fuzzy mice and my hair elastics

Does the cat scratch a scratcher?  Sometimes but doesn’t appear to be a big scratcher

Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes

What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? His absolute favorite is Fancy Feast creamy delights wet food.  He has FLUTD, which means he is prone to urinary issues so it’s imperative he gets enough wet food and water.

Is the cat picky about food? Yes but I think I have cracked the code!

Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances?  Sometimes, but I have learned it's just one of Hank's many forms of communication and is harmless.

Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? Only within the first few days of arriving when he was anxious in his new environment.

Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? No

Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No

To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Hank isn’t so much reactive to new people as he is to new environments.  He seems to be fine with anyone once he is settled and feels confident in his domain.

Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions?  Yes!  I call Hank a “foodie” because he is so particular about his food.  Now that I know what he likes to eat, he will dive right in, but if Hank is served something brand new or something he doesn't necessarily enjoy but is hungry enough to eat, he will sniff it thoroughly, then he eat by dipping his paw in like a spoon. Another cute thing is that when Hank is done receiving pets he will shrug your hand off of him and hold it down for a few seconds with his front paws so you'll stop.  He will give your hand a few licks to let you know he appreciates the love, just doesn't want the attention at the moment.

In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt?  Being Hank’s owner will be super rewarding!  Once he gets through his settling in stage in his new home, he will be a very easy roommate.  Hank will communicate exactly what he wants when he wants it.  He's a very smart boy!
