All about Ronald and Harry from their foster home!

How would you describe the cat's general personality? They are very sweet 8-month old boys - Harry (tuxedo) and Ronald (orange tabby). They will take a couple of days to warm up to you and come out of their shells but once they do they are lovely. They enjoy human interaction, playing and showing off their cuteness. They are definitely a bonded pair and love each other! They seem to need a female lead caretaker as they have shown aversion to males in the past (not yet tested with us).

Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes, both enjoy being pet. Ronald especially will purr when receiving attention.
If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? The usual places - head, face, chin, back. Harry likes to be petted on his tummy too and will roll on his side for you.
Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? None found yet but haven't tried playing with their paws or rubbing Ronald's tummy.
Does the cat come on your lap? Harry will jump up on your lap for attention. He'll stay for a few minutes and then jump down. Ron can be picked up and put on your lap but jumps down pretty quickly - he prefers to be petted when on the ground.
Does the cat like to be held? We can pick both boys up very easily but neither seem to like being held and will wriggle to get down.
Does the cat sleep in your bed? They have not had the opportunity as they are staying in a separate room.
Does the cat seek your attention? Yes, both will come over for pets. They often greet us at the door to their foster room. They are more wanting attention in the mornings than evenings - in the evenings they will sometimes stay where they are and then sleepily get up and come over for attention/play after a bit.

Does the cat like to play? Yes, both like to play!
What are the cat's favorite games and toys? They enjoy interaction with a wand ribbon toy. They also play with kick toys together on their own.

How vocal is the cat? Both are pretty quiet, but will meow when seeking attention.
What kinds of sounds does the cat make?  They will occasionally softly meow for attention. Ronald has a loud-ish purr. They will sometimes make a trill sound to express that they are having fun.

Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Yes, vertical scratchers, especially Harry. They will also scratch at furniture and need to be redirected at times.
If no, please explain.
Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes, perfectly and very tidy.
If no, please explain.

What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? They eat 3/4 cup dried food between them twice a day and half of a big can of wet food once a day.
Is the cat picky about food?  They prefer dry food over wet. We've been giving them some ocean fish flavored wet food and they will eat that if there are no kibbles available.
What is the cat's favorite treat? Haven't tried treats with them yet.

Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? No
Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? No
Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? Ronald nips while being petted (and purring). Harry does not.
Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No

To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? We introduced them to two female friends and they were able to be petted straight away and also engaged in play after a while. Harry is a bit braver than Ronald. Have not tried introducing them to men yet.

Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? Harry has an adorable smudge on his nose and Ronald is beautiful! They like to sniff anything you bring into their space - very inquisitive!

In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? They are a very sweet bonded pair and whoever adopts them will be very lucky! They compliment each other very well!

What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? They are initially shy in a new environment. Harry hid for the first evening, then came forward for playtime and then pets. Ronald took two days before coming out of hiding. Within a week they were both no longer hiding at all, coming straight up for petting/play. Now Ronald is the more attention seeking of the two. A new owner will need to be patient initially and keep faith that their patience will be rewarded ten-fold by this adorable duo!
