My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VT

Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Unknown, likely yes
Good with kids: Yes
Crate trained: Yes
House Trained: Mostly

Erza is a sweet, gentle soul who is looking for a loving and patient family of her own. She is a medium energy girl who enjoys playing fetch, going for walks and then taking a nap in her crate.

Erza is affectionately nicknamed Ezzy by her foster family’s children. They absolutely adore her and the feeling is mutual. Erza loves children and happily plays tag or fetch with them. She is currently fostered with multiple other dogs and happily spends her afternoons romping in the yard with her doggy siblings and would make a wonderful doggy daycare candidate. Erza has not met cats but with her gentle disposition would likely be fine. She can be shy when initially meeting new people, but in time she will melt your heart and sweetly ask for pets. Erza enjoys going for pack walks with her foster family, she is making great improvements on her leash skills.

She is fully crate trained and happily naps in her crate during the day and sleeps soundly overnight. Erza is nearly there with housetraining and is making progress on a schedule. With time and patience she will quickly master it. She is a smart dog and eager to please. Erza has already learned “sit”, “lay down” and “come”. She would love a family that will continue her basic training and continue to teach her new tricks.

Who wants to play fetch with Erza?

More about this rescue

Our mission at Last Hope K9 Rescue is to save every possible dog we can from being euthanized within high-volume kill shelters throughout the U.S.

As the literal “last hope” of nearly every animal we serve, we work tirelessly to place each one within a stable, loving environment that can act as either their forever home, or the gateway to their forever home. We also strive to ensure that all of our adoptions and foster placements are the optimal fit for everyone involved, including our dogs. This leads to our second goal: enriching human lives through canine companionship. To us, you can’t have one without the other.

Lastly, we promote animal welfare by lobbying important initiatives that both protect and give voice to the voiceless. By fostering an environment of collaboration with other organizations that share our goals, and working together instead of in competition, we find that we accomplish more.
