My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you ready for a playful, energetic companion who’s always up for an adventure? Look no further than Dolly, our spirited Terrier mix with a zest for life and a heart full of love!

Personality & Traits: Dolly is a happy-go-lucky pup who loves her humans dearly and will quickly become your loyal friend. She's a real talker, expressing her joy with a delightful mix of grumbles, grunts, snorts, yips, and barks. Whether you’re looking for a hiking buddy or a running partner, Dolly is eager to join in on all your outdoor escapades. Her ideal family is active and loves to keep moving—she thrives on physical activity and adventure.

Training & Behavior:

  • Kennel Trained: Dolly feels safe and comfortable in her kennel, making her a great fit for families who use crates for training or sleeping.
  • Basic Commands: While she learns quickly and is eager to please, Dolly can be distracted, especially when other dogs are around. Patience and consistent training will help her focus.
  • Leash Training: Still a work in progress, Dolly is learning how to walk nicely on a leash. With some patience and consistent training, she’ll soon master this skill too.
  • No Small Animals or Cats: Dolly has a strong prey drive and cannot be around small animals or cats. This is a non-negotiable part of her future home.

Quirks & Fun Facts:

  • Paper Products Beware: Dolly has a penchant for paper and loves to shred anything she can get her paws on. Keep your homework and important papers out of her reach!
  • The Little Thief: Watch out for her quick paws—if it’s small and within sight, she might just snatch it up before you know it!
  • Burying Food and Treats: Dolly has a habit of burying her food and treats for safekeeping, a charming reminder of her natural instincts.

Dog-Friendly: Dolly gets along well with other dogs but can get overly excited and may need reminders to play politely.

Health & Wellness: Dolly is in great health, up-to-date on all her vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. She’s ready for a family to call her own and to start her next chapter full of love and adventure.

Crowds: Care needs to be taken when taking Dolly around crowds. She can become over stimulated.

Ideal Home: Dolly would thrive in a home where she can get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. An active family who enjoys hiking, running, or long walks would be perfect for her. She hasn’t been exposed to small children that we know of, but with time and proper introductions, she’s likely to adjust well.

She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Estimated date of birth is 9/28/2023 and her adoption fee is $200.
