My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kong, a handsome 5 month old neutered male terrier/lab/husky mix pup! He currently weighs about 35 lbs and is expected to grow to a medium/large sized dog. His coat is a beautiful brown/gray (with white on his chest/paws), but it photographs more like black.

Kong and his siblings were rescued at 4 weeks old after their mom was hit by a car and sadly killed. They have been fostered in TN for the past 4 months, until Paws Rescue League gave them their freedom ride to New England to find their furever homes! All of these pups just love to be loved and are loyal family members.

Kong's CT foster mom says this about him: "Kong likes to move! He is always on the run exploring and following the rest of our pack. He is a lover of all things.. dogs and humans alike. The only thing he doesn’t like.. his crate, he would rather have free roam of the house."

Kong is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with other dogs, all people, and kids (not cat tested). A 100% good doggo!

Kong is fully housebroken (may have accidents the first few days while adjusting to a new environment/routine).

NOTE - all of our dogs come with a certificate of health from state of origin (TN) and from Connecticut per the 2024 CT Dept of Agriculture laws for rescue dogs. Our dogs are healthy, fully vetted, and in loving foster homes where they are socialized, housebroken and taught good house manners.

Submit Application

Apply for the dog you are interested in. Or fill out a general application describing what you are looking for in a dog

2.
Home Check

After processing you application, you will be contacted to schedule a virtual home visit.

3.
Approve Application

After your application is processed and your home visit is done, we will let you know if you are approved to adopt!

4.
Meet the Pet

Once you are approved a meeting will be set up for you to meet with the dog you are interested in.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

The last step is finalizing the adoption! Sign their contract, pay the adoption fee, and take your furry friend home!

We match our dogs to the best applicant for each dog! We process applications, preform a home visit, either in person or a video call. We have a discussion with you about what you're looking for in a dog, and we work with our applicants to find the dog that will best fit their home and lifestyle. We want to ensure both our rescue dogs, and adopters are set up for success and are happy!

Paws Rescue League Inc. Rescues the dogs that need saving. We believe ALL dogs deserve love, happiness, and a family. We don't just take in the puppies, or the young fully vetted dogs who are quick to adopt. We take dogs of all ages, all sizes, all breeds and we do our best to find the best family that matches their needs. We work with our adopters to make sure they are supported, and the process is as stress free as possible. We are a 501(c)(3) non profit rescue, that is run by volunteers.
