Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Missy was adopted from our rescue 6 years ago when she was a young girl. Apparently her family fell on hard times and was moving to an apartment and could not take her with them. How sad, it does happen and as much as she was loved, such things happen all the time. So many dogs in shelters truly had a loving family that would want nothing more than to be with them forever.
It is obvious after those 6 years, and taking Missy back into our rescue that she has been much loved. She is till the sweet, gentle soul that she was all those years ago. Missy is a gentle girl with the most soulful eyes. We were told her family gave her up to a local shelter and she was incredibly traumatized. She trembled and cowered in fear, and thanks to the magic of microchips, she was tracked back to our rescue!
The first day or so Missy was a bit cautious, but she has come out of her shell. She is not a hyper girl, but she does enjoy her activity. She gets along great with the other dogs, but also is not the type that seeks out a buddy or really has to have that connection. But, she does seem to love having her people around and enjoys being by your side.
We are guessing at Missy's breed(s). She has the Basenji look and size. And also, she is not really a barker. If she wants to get your attention-which is sooooo adorable--she will say..."whooo whooo whoooo!" We know she is a mix, and she also looks like a German Shepard without the larger size and ample hair!!
We think Missy is pretty darn awesome and is looking for that special family for her happily ever after, this time. She will do well with a fairly active family, no long hours alone, from what we read, she had some long days alone(sadly!). If you are looking for that very special dog to love, and to love you, perhaps Missy is your girl. Her adoption fee is $250. Please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com.
