My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucy is a breath of fresh air and a moment of peace. She's a calm and lovely girl who truly doesn't ask for much - a cozy bed, a lap to lay her her head on, and a trot around the block every once and awhile. She was actually wandering stray in a small town in Texas, when she mosied on up to a friendly face and leaned in politely for pets. Lucy will most certainly be someone's special soul dog who makes every day better and brighter.

Lucy  can be a bit unsure about other dogs when she first meets, so we can offer some guidelines to your family for a happy, phased integration to your pets if you have any. We're not 100% sure on what sort of dog companion is best for her, but we think another very calm buddy would be best (if any).  She has gotten along best with a senior small dog who shared her love of sniffing every inch of the backyard, cuddling on soft blankets, and monitoring the comings and goings in the kitchen.
Lucy can be a bit shy meeting new people, but it’s nothing that some yummy treats and being gentle with her doesn’t remedy.

Lucy is low key and well-behaved. She’s a lovely little lady that just wants to love and be loved.

Additional adoption info

Austin Bulldog Rescue is 100% foster-based, and does not have a shelter or facility where applicants can come meet dogs before applying. Meet and greets with a potential match will happen after an adoption application is approved. ABR is a matching rescue -- while our teams take dog preference into account, we ultimately match families to the dog best suited for their home and lifestyle. The more thoroughly you answer the interview questions, the better the matching experience on all sides!
