My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rue was brought to the shelter on June 14th, 2024. Rue and her sister Katniss were living in a barn that was burned down and abandoned. Rue was rescued by a local rescue group and was socialized and brought back to health. Once Rue and her sister Katniss were spayed and vaccinated, they were brought to Upper Credit to find a forever home. Rue is very curious and like to be in high places. She has a history of going up into ceiling tiles, so a drywalled ceiling is preferred in her new home. Rue loves the company of other cats and can be a little shy at first. Please consider giving Rue a chance in a patient and loving home.

If you are interested in an animal you’ve seen on our website, you can call 519-833-2287 or send an email to learn more about them. You can also stop by the shelter to meet the animal in person. It may take a few visits to find the animal that is a perfect match for you.

You can stop by the shelter Monday through Sunday from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.

You may wish to call the shelter before visiting to confirm the location and availability of the animal you would like to meet. The UCHS staff can let you know if the animal is currently at the shelter or at one of our remote locations, such as a foster home, local pet supply store or our Thrift Shop.
