Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mole came to North Brooklyn Cats from the far off land of Long Island. He spent kittenhood feral and frightened, and even when his sister decided humans weren't all that bad Mole clung to his wild man roots. Through months of patience and compassion Mole has finally become a lovable, goofy, introverted housecat. He loves sleeping, playing with shoelaces and catnip, and he even plays fetch (if you can call him asking you to throw crunchy treats to the other side of the room so he can "hunt" them fetch).
Mole loves to be pet on his terms, but loves human and kitty company. You'll feel him purring away at the foot of your bed through layers of covers or catch him intently looking over your shoulder while you're working on the computer. He is also a very polite boy and will always let his friend have first dibs on churus. He loves to co-play but will make sure his friend is ok with rough-housing before going full play mode.
Mole is currently living with his foster sibling Suki, who is a huge extrovert to his introvert, and they balance each other out well. He would be happy to go home with Suki, but would eventually warm up to another adult cat. Mole spent a little time as a single cat and did not shut up about how much he missed having a friend the entire time, so he will need to be adopted with another kitty.

After choosing a cat we have an application for the adopter to fill out. When your application is approved we deliver to your home.

Home Check
We only adopt to homes in the NYC area. Young kittens must be adopted with another cat or kitten if the home doesn’t have another pet.

Additional adoption info
Cat and kitten adoptions require a $150.00 donation, which helps us cover the costs of delivering them already spayed/neutered, tested for felv/fiv, current on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and treated for any health problems we were aware of. We generally require that kittens under five months of age be adopted in two's unless you already have another pet. Adoptions require an application that asks for two references and a contract. We arrange for delivery of your new cat to your home, generally within a few days of getting your application. We are happy to help should you need advice or assistance with your new companion before or after the adoption.

More about this rescue
North Brooklyn Cats specializes in taking in orphaned "bottle-babies" from other rescues and from the streets of our neighborhood. These tiny kittens require round-the-clock care and often don't do well in a shelter environment. We also rescue cats and kittens from the NYC kill shelters. Trap-Neuter-Release, TNR, is also a big part of what we do. The friendly straycats and kittens that are often found on the streets also become candidates for adoption. We have many years experience volunteering and working for shelters and rescue organizations in New York City.
