Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We're about to let you in on our best kept secret...it's Bea! This 1.5-year-old terrier mix has come so far in 5 months here - from shaking like a leaf if anyone looked at her, to moonlighting as our office greeter. Bea and some of her dog family came from a really tough situation, but Bea had the most obstacles to overcome. She just didn't know how to be a dog or how to be loved.
Well, it turns out Bea is THE BEST dog who deserves ALL THE LOVE. She's a sweet, sensitive soul whose precious heart must be protected at all costs! Her eyes are somewhere between "big sad puppy dog" and "seen some things," but either way, they'll make you melt. She's still a little wary around new people, but she warms up with some time (and treats!). What Bea LOVES is other dogs. She is a running and playing machine with lots of energy to burn.
One of our longtime volunteers kindly took Bea home for a weekend, and here's what she observed:
- She's affectionate, smart and curious. She's not at all aggressive.
- She listens and is respectful of others' space.
- She's timid about things she hasn't experienced yet, but tries hard to be brave.
- She didn't bother the cats in the home (she's sweetly curious about the ones at the shelter, especially kittens). However, if a cat ran from her, she might chase it in play.
- She was good with the older resident dog and was (mostly) wellbehaved when left alone (she'll learn shoes aren't toys).
- She discovered the couch and loved it! She also liked the pillows on it, so she took them to her bed.
- She loves her walks and would happily go for a few miles or an hour, whichever comes first.
- She's not a fan of riding in vehicles, but she might learn it's not bad!
- She's housebroken, but is nervous in new places, so she might need a pass for the first day or two. She is still working on going #2 while on the leash, and just has to find the perfect spot!
Bea is looking for a home that can show her all the great things life has to offer, reassure her if she gets scared and who will provide the stability and emotional connection she's craving. Once you get there, it'll be the greatest, most rewarding gift. What we're trying to say is, Bea is a once-in-a-lifetime friend.
