My name is Izzy and I am 1 year old and 6 lbs. Still in my puppy phase but learning how to be a big girl.
I am very playful and have lots of energy so I need someone to take me outside for walks and to play with me. I am good with other dogs and another playful dog would be a plus for me. I even like bigger dogs to play with! My uncle’s dog, Barrett the St. Bernard, is my bestest friend. But I don’t see him every day.
Like I said, I have lots of energy but I do take my quiet time naps when foster mom goes away. I have my own little space in the guest room bathroom where my comfy crate awaits with all of my stuffed toys.
I have been a good girl around 6 and 7 year old boys but they really make me nervous so foster mom only allows me to be with them when she is watching. Because I am a Chihuahua I could easily nip if a child scares me so a home with no small kids is best.
I like to play in the fenced in backyard (that is the only place I am off leash because I am very fast) but foster mom watches me pretty close. I like to chew on sticks which is OK with her but it seems eating rocks is not allowed at this establishment. Heehee.
She is spayed, UTD on vaccines, HW Negative and on HW preventative.
Her adoption donation is $300.00.
If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below.
To submit an application go here……chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/
An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled.
Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative.
Reference checks and a home visit are required so dogs can only be adopted in NC/SC, VA, TN, AL, MD, GA, OH, KY, MI, WI, and IL.
Izzy is currently located in Ohio, any adopter located outside our Midwest Region (OH, KY, MI, WI & IL) will be responsible for paying the additional cost of a flight to transport her to her forever home if ground transport is not available. The cost of a flight typically costs $125, and Izzy will be flown in cabin and escorted by an airline volunteer.

CRT does not warehouse dogs in a shelter. As in most rescue groups, our dogs are cared for in healthy, safe, loving foster home environments. CRT foster parents work very hard to be sure that their foster dog feels safe and loved while working on housetraining, crate training, socialization, etc. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, fecal tested, microchipped, on heartworm preventative and have all other veterinary needs taken care of (such as heartworm treatment, dentals, luxating patellas, etc.) CRT is known, and has always been known, for taking the injured, infirm and elderly Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. Please consider the adoption of one of these dogs as well. Seniors and special needs dogs make great pets too!
CRT is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, public charity. We have no paid employees. We are dedicated to rescue, adoption and the medical care of stray and homeless Chihuahuas in need, and to help control the growing overpopulation through spaying and neutering all dogs in our care.
