Demetrius and Nicos were born at Famous Fido Rescue Center after their mom, Athena, was rescued from abandonment near a railroad in Mokena, these sweet kittens narrowly escaped a perilous start in life. Athena, trapped in a box with no way to escape, gave birth to them in safety at the rescue center. These playful, affectionate little rascals bring joy to everyone they meet, and though they brighten our days at the rescue, seeing them in a loving home would make us even happier. With their mom already adopted, Demetrius and Nicos are now eagerly waiting for a forever family to share their boundless love and energy.

Famous Fido was founded by Gloria Lissner who has been independently rescuing dogs from the death rows of kill shelters since 1975. She officially opened Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance in July 2010. All our dogs recieve the necessary vet care and treatment is never refused. Famous Fido has developed a full merchandise line, starting with our all natural dog treats to support our rescue efforts. Our products are available for purchase on our website. The mission of FFRAA is to form an alliance with similar organizations to increase community awareness, public consciences and create a No Kill Nation.
