My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Eloise! I don’t know if you read my sister Penelope’s tail OOPS tale! But we had a very scary journey in the wild before our rescuers found us! We lived in the woods! There were wild animals trying to eat us & there were bugs & the thunderstorms were so loud & shook & cried & now I can’t stand the sound of thunder! Penelope took such good care of me & kept me safe but there were times when we didn’t know if we’d starve or be eaten!

Penelope always tells me that I’m too nervous about things & everything will be okay but how does she know that?! We are the same age (3-4months)! She doesn’t have infinite wisdom! ANYWAY! The day our rescuers found us was the best day ever! Even though I didn’t think humans were nice after we were dumped in the woods, these humans were so nice! They cleaned us up & began picking the ticks off of me. I had ticks embedded inside of my eyelids! Once I was clean & fed, I knew we were going to be safe! I love walking on the leash, I love laying down in the grass & being petted & I absolutely love kissing my foster humans & saying thank you a million times for bringing me to safety & showing me kindness!

The sunrises are beautiful to watch in nature but having a family of my own would be the most beautiful thing I could ever imagine!

Update! After another week of living with Penelope & Eloise, we have learned some more about them:
-They loooooove playing together & with the other dogs. If they meet another dog who says no to playing, they immediately respect those cues & submit or leave the proximity.
-They loooooooove to cuddle & be cuddled! You don’t have time to sit down & hold one in your lap? No problem! They can sit on each other! Or another dog!
-They will happily crate separately or XPen together overnight though they have slept in the bed a few times too.
-They haven’t had any accidents in the house.
-They are perfect little dogs who deserve a perfect life with a loving family!!!

If your application is chosen and approved we will setup a meet and greet with the pet. You will hear back regardless if chosen or not.

We place the dogs in the best home not the first home. Please be patient while we go over all apps and we will be in touch.

We are foster based. You must apply on Crossyourpaws.com first. If your application is chosen as the best fit for the dog we will move forward with the approval process. Once approved you will be setup with a time to meet the dog. Our dogs are all over the greater Pittsburgh area.

Here at Cross Your Paws Rescue, we are driven by a single goal; to save lives. We are doing our part in making the world a better place for all pets. Our decision to start a rescue is not one that we have taken lightly, it has come after years of volunteer work with other groups. Our goal is to make this world a place where starving, abused animals is a thing of the past. That shelters filled with dogs and cats waiting to be euthanized is unheard of. We want euthanasia to be something to help pets on their way to the Rainbow bridge not to end lives because of overpopulation. We vow to save every life that we can.
