Phatima is a 4 year old delicate little lady that just wants out of here. She had a home since kittenhood when her former owner saw her stuck in a fence and rescued her. She grew up with cats, kids, and even a dog and loved everyone, especially loving to get cuddles and lots of attention. Sadly, her family is moving and cannot bring her along. Phatima is not herself in the shelter because the new situation just terrifies her. Lucky for her, her caretakers don't give up so easily and they've been spending loads of time giving her plenty of TLC. We now see that angel of a cat that her former owner described. Phatima LOVES being petted and will smush against you to remind you to not stop. She is very loving and she'd do great in a relaxing home where she could take her time to get settled in and become the most mushy lap cat you've ever known. Please give Phatima a chance! Call 609-693-1900 or email: office@ahsppz.org for an application. File#72529 5/11/24

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
