My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bebe, aptly named because she's looking to be YOUR new baby :) Bebe was loved but unfortunately was surrendered by her previous owner when they were moving and couldn't take her along. Her owner said she makes a great companion and that she previously lived with cats and did great!

See more from Bebe's friends below. She is now available for adoption at ACCT Philly- you can meet her any day from 10am-6pm!

Behavioral notes:

Per Volunteer 6/19/24:
Bebe is a great doggo. Excited to come outside, easy to leash. She didn't pull on the leash for me and we walked straight to the play yard. She Took treats nicely and showed off some commands. She followed me around in the play yard but didn't engage in much play. Sweet lady!

On 6/17/24 staff noted: Gen. Behavior due to growling and tense body language (the way she greets people). BeBe was by the door with neutral eyes and body. She backed up a little when I opened the kennel door and flinched after the leash. After sniffing the leash BeBe let me leash her easily. Pulls minimally on leash. When BeBe came into the eval room she was timid and a little tense. When the handler went down to her level to make her less nervous she came over with a slight wag and gave a kiss on the face. When another handler entered the room BeBe went straight up to them very stiff (freezing) and gave hard eye contact with a high stiff tail. She eventually moved away and went over to the other handler. The handler went back down to her level to pet her and she growled in the handlers direction. The other handler went to take the leash and interact with her on leash. BeBe took some treats from the floor but refused to take them from hands. She specifically waited until the treat was dropped to eat it. After buttering her, the handler attempted to pet her again and BeBe stiffened up and gave very intense side eye. After a couple minutes of walking her the eval room, the handler tried to pet her again she she looked back and gave some wide eye contact. After more time, BeBe allowed the handler to come up to her and give her some fresh pet without stiffening up or growling. She ate the fresh pet from the handler and gave a lick on the arm after. BeBe opened up more and allowed some pets after some more time and more fresh pet. Engages in play, she trotted around the toys and did some little runs after the tennis ball, chases them but doesn't take possession.

Medical notes:
On 6/16/24 during an intake exam staff noted: BeBe had brown debris in her ears but was otherwise in good general health. BeBe was noted to be bright, alert and responsive.
