Our hearts are heavy as we share the urgent story of Savannah, a 9-year-old rough collie with a 💖 of gold, currently facing a situation no senior dog should, needing a new home. After being abandoned at a rural shelter, deemed "too old and too stubborn" by her previous owner, Savannah is in dire need of a home.

Despite her age, Savannah embodies the gentle, loving spirit rough collies are known for. She's not stubborn; she's a senior sweetheart in need of love, care, and a second chance. 🐾💔

How can you help ?
Spread the Word: The power of sharing cannot be underestimated. Share Savannah's story to help us find the love she desperately needs. 🗣️📢Foster to Adopt: Consider giving Savannah a place in your home and heart. Fostering or adopting her would be an incredible act of love for a senior dog in need. 🏡❤️

Savannah's journey is a poignant reminder of the lifelong commitment our furry friends require, especially in their twilight years. They offer us unconditional love and loyalty; it's only right we do the same in their time of need.

Let’s unite for Savannah. Let's show her the best of humanity and give her the loving future she deserves. Your support can transform her life. 🌍❤️🐾

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help you can provide. Together, we can make a significant difference for Savannah. 💕🐾

❤️ Even if the dog that you’re interested in has already been adopted, please complete our online Adoption Application to tell us what you’re looking for in a new canine family member. We have lots of Collies & Shelties coming into rescue, and we'll do our best to find your best match with another available adult.
She was adopted a few weeks ago but is not handling the young aussie puppy in the home well. Her prior Foster had a 5lb toy poodle who she adored along with the other calm dogs in the home.
She had a fresh grooming today and feels so much better.

More about this rescue

Coastal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Virginia. We are a foster home based animal Shelter dedicated to finding loving new homes for unwanted, stray, and abandoned Shelties, Collies, Old English Sheepdogs, doodles and other small dogs. We serve Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, the District of Columbia, eastern West Virginia, and south central Pennsylvania, and are staffed solely by volunteers. We also strive to educate the public about the characteristics of the herding breed and the rewards of giving a home to a rescued dog.

The majority of the Coastal dogs are turned in to us by their previous owners.
