My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlie is part of a litter whose mom is a Schipperke/Dachshund mix. Charlie weighs 25 pounds currently. He probably will be 30 pounds full grown. The dad is not known but mom is a 12 pound Schipperke/pomeranian. Charlie was born 8/18/23. He is so cute and looks like a miniature black labrador retriever mixed with a dachshund body. He has been neutered and had three distemper/parvo shots plus lepto, Bordetella, a one year rabies, and has been microchipped. He is wormed and on flea and heartworm meds. Charlie would like another dog in the home because he enjoys playing with dogs so much. He loves humans too.

Thinking about a new puppy….. things to keep in mind:

Puppy will need time, training, love and connection, mixed in with a load of attention.
Best if children are school age or older; we will consider younger children only on exception basis.
Puppies have small bladders and need to have someone to let them out regularly for potty breaks…..work from home, work part-time, come home at lunch…..need a plan as they will need you every 4 to 5 hours until they are at least 6 to 8 months old.
Will your current pet be willing to accept a new puppy. Puppies can be a handful.
Will you be traveling extensively for the next couple of months?
Puppy proofing your home is like baby proofing you home; it requires effort.

Our primary mission is to rescue, care for, and find loving homes for homeless cats and dogs. Our secondary goal is to make sure all of these animals are spayed or neutered. It is a big task, but we are ready! Paws and Prayers is based in the Northeast Ohio region. We operate as a non-profit, incorporated organization that functions solely on the efforts of foster homes and adoption volunteers.
