Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Doc is a super sweet cat who is about 4 years old (born approximately 6/16/2020). He was named after the doctor character in Gunsmoke and his family affectionately calls him Doc-a-roo or Doc the Cat as fun nicknames. When he was about 6 months old, he lost one of his legs due to an accident but he gets around just great with only three legs. He could benefit from some weight loss in a new home but other than that, no extra care is needed for him beyond what any other cat would need. Doc must be an inside only cat - just like all Reuben's Room cats.
Doc has been a wonderful companion to his human family members but unfortunately his human mom has significant allergies that make her interactions with him more limited than she would like. He loves people and will thrive in a home where he can get more attention from someone who isn’t allergic to him. He will happily roll over for a belly rub for family that he knows but he may hide from a stranger initially and isn’t a fan of loud noises. When he does show you his belly, you’ll see that it is white and he also has one white foot and a white toe on one of his other feet.
Because of his human mom’s allergies, he lives in an insulated barn and tack room. His space though has all the amenities he needs including his very own recliner that he enjoys napping in with his family member and getting groomed daily. He particularly likes his ZoomGroom (one of those rubber brushes) and that will go with him to his new home. He is a lap cat and doesn’t mind being picked up which isn’t always that common for cats. He is always happy to see his person and gives them unconditional love.
Doc is a talker at meal times especially if he thinks it is taking too long for his food to be served. He enjoys playing with a wand toy that has a long wispy feather. He enjoys it when his family member sings to him and he joins in the song by purring along happily in harmony. He loves the grandchildren who visit who are 7 and 9 years old. He lived with another cat for awhile and did just fine with him so with a slow, proper introduction he may do just fine. We don’t know how he would be with dogs but because he is a social boy, if the dog is calm, they may be friends. We are pretty sure that Doc would sleep with his human family member if they allow it and he also enjoys kneading.
Can you provide a forever home for this sweet young boy for the next phase of his journey? You will be greatly rewarded for adding him to your heart and home for many years to come!
